CENTRIX BANK COMMITS $5 MILLION FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE STUDENT LOANS Funds will be used to finance federal loan programs through NH Higher Education Loan Corporation

Bedford, New Hampshire (August 1, 2008) – Centrix Bank recently announced it committed $5 million towards student loan funding for eligible NH residents through the NH Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO). The funds will be used to finance federal student loans for the upcoming year for college-bound students and parents.

The recent surge in subprime loan delinquencies as well as diminishing investor confidence has had an adverse affect on the federally guaranteed student loan asset-backed securities market. Funds were desperately needed to help NHHELCO provide student loan financing for federal student loans. A total of approximately $55 million was pledged from the NH banking community to support this critical initiative.
